graduated in Germany from the "Hochschule für Künste" in Bremen as well as from the Musikhochschule Lübeck, where he was a
pupil of Gunther Pohl (Bamberg Symphoniker). Afterwards he received a Fulbright scholarship, completing his studies in the
United States of America with Brooks de Wetter-Smith (University of North Carolina). In addition, he has participated in
international master classes given - among others - by James Galway.
As a soloist with orchestra as well as in various chamber music settings he has toured throughout Germany, as well as in
France, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, Great Britain, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, India, Canada and the USA. On
the invitation of several Goethe-Instituts and embassies, or under the aegis of "Jeunesses Musicales" and "International
Artists Alliance" he has performed in major centres such as Vienna, Paris, London, New York, Washington, Montréal, Toronto,
Ottawa, Pune, Stockholm, Kopenhagen, Barcelona and Genoa.
He directed seminars in flute interpretation at various American universities and has participated in several recordings
and radio broadcasts.
The position of Principal Flutist he has held, since 1987, with the "Camerata Instrumentale Bremen" and, since 2013, with
the "Bremen Woodwind Quintet".
